Post One Hundred

This is my hundredth post!

ONE
HUNDRED
POSTS

I think that is a pretty special number.  It means I've filled up a lot of space with my words, and you must know a lot about me.  It means I've changed my blog layout at least 5 times, and that I've spent over 100 hours on this lovely Blogger interface.  It means I've been here for a year, averaging 2 posts a week.

Changes

I've changed my blog, as you can most likely see.  I used the layout editor they have in Blogger now (or at least the Draft verison, which I use).

I'm not totally sold on the background image, but I like green and there wasn't much else I could think of.  If anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestion!

I also have tabs/pages, which are cool.  I had them before, sorta, but these I make myself (avec Blogger).

I also added in a Cbox (chat box) which I changed to fit using HTML (GO ME! I feel extra-accomplished).  You can say something in it if you'd like (no pressure), and the email/URL is not needed.  Hit enter to post what you've got to say. :)

So, do you like or dislike the changes?

P.S. check out the tabs!

New Years Post (And Blog Anniversary)

Wow.  I've had this blog for a year!  That's special.  And obsessively dedicated.

I guess I need to do some blog/new years resolutions - it's about time, I think, since I forgot the first two days of 2010, so I decided to put it off till my anniversary.  I hardly remember this time last year, starting a blog because of Kori and NaNo WriMo (yes, I couldn't decide which link to put, so it's split down the middle ;) hehe).

New Years Resolutions For Me And Blog

  1. Blog: post weekly, 300 words or more.
  2. Me: study more, and stop procrastinating
  3. Blog: change complete or make small but large changes to the design
  4. Me: possibly try out a new haircut this summer (like straight across bangs compared to the side ones I have now)

Questions, Statues and Impending Distaster (x3)

Yes, the title is right. I'll start with the latter - Impending Disaster.  Yes, it is coming.  No, I don't mean 2012.  Don't believe in that.

What I do believe in, is that second semester will start in just over a month.  That means math, English, science and French all jumbled into one hard, confusing day.  There is no way  I am looking forward to that.

Another Impending Disaster is about writing.  I wrote a one-shot (still editing) for the libraries contest (in October, but I can never leave it to the last minute without loosing all my good ideas).  I wrote it on pure inspiration, fueled by the night and darkness what-have-you, but still.  I didn't even place in the last one, and a girl who isn't half as obsessed as I am with writing got an honorable mention.  I shouldn't be hoping for the best, but I am.

New Blog!

Okay, going along as a conformist here, I've made a new blog.  I've called it Insight and have turned off the comments.... I have my reasons.  I'm planning for it to be not only different than this one, but also shorter and more about my thoughts, so this one can be more about writing and my life.

That's pretty much it folks :)

Also, I'm on page FOUR of editing Empyrean!  It's amazing!  I've looked up agents too, just in case ;)  - although I have a long way to go... about 2 years of editing... but the morale is good :D

Changement

I finished my project early!  Finally I got around to changing my blog - I found the perfect (well, I think so) background on Shabby Blogs - which is a really cool site.  I also got the little pictures I've added in from there as well.  It was a lot of fun :D  But I'm still looking for a header again.

On another note, I only have about 14 more days left of school!!  (Not including a week-long trip to Ottowa and Montreal on the second las week of school).  I also have grad coming up - totally nerve wracking, and I'm horrifiedly nervous.

Speaking of nervous, this weekend I'm having a birthday party - first ever in 4 years - at my house.  And my friends (girls) are going to come over early to attempt to curl my hair.  I just hope I manage to hide all my little-kid pictures - last weekend furing filming at my house, some of my friends opened up the back of a picture frame to find the horrible pictures of me!  Ahhh!!!

Well, I hope all of you lovely readerly people are having an amazing, warm start of the summer/spring.  It was only 14 degrees today, but 30 earlier (damn Global warming.. it'll be up to 40 in July -- eww).

Thank-You

A few days ago I got Google Analysis, and now, 7 days later, I have some amazing news.

As of today, I have readers in 4 different countries!

I seriously reloaded the page and couldn't believe my eyes. Welcome Germany and Ukraine to my awesome blog! I hope you liked it :)

I feel so accomplished now, knowing that my blog is so popular! (ok, so Analytics says there have been 21 unique visitors... but that's still almost 3 per day!)

It's times like these when it pays to have a blog. Somewhat. I still only have 5 commenters! (Ever, not just the constant ones). But oh well. (coughcommentcough)

But a big, major THANKS to everyone reading and commenting all around the world (or 4 countries).

Besides checking up on Analytics every day (religously) I haven't done much. Bikeriding, very little writing, and a lot of school (although not so much work). It's finally started to feel like Summer around here... and although the warmth is nice, I hate shorts. I'm more of a jeans, t-shirt and jacket girl, not a tank-top and shorts one. Add in pool parties and I'm running to the nearest patch of snow. (Isn't it always that way though? You want the Summer in Winter and the Winter in Summer... always speeding up time, never wanting it to slow down... and then one day you look back and realize you little you've matured in the past few years and want to go back, back to less responsiblity and worries...)

Anyways, I'll end this with a new and scary thought:

The Car Chase, my latest short-story, is... well.. a short story. And it was Career Day in school (parents come in and talk about their careers - and of course, there was a writer) so it got me thinking.... would The Car Chase be magazine-quality? Would it need a better name? Do short-fiction-publishing magazines exist without going bankrupt within a year? In Canada?

Questions.... but it would be amazingly cool to have the answers as yes, and my story in a magazine.
