Technical Issues

Signing up for Age of Empires Online (a windows live gaming account is needed) messed up my emails......  however I think I have it worked out and all caliginosityblog (at) gmail.com should go where they are supposed to :)

Although I've linked accounts before in Hotmail, I'm not so sure about doing the same for Google (they make it sound dangerous :\).

Anyways, another short (crappy) blog will be coming up soon on what I should write, but I thought I should tell people that while it seems like there are 2 authors, both are still me because I'm a techie failure :)

Sarah 1&2 :P

+ another problem with being the 2nd author is that I cannot change the look of the blog :\

Hottest day... ever?

Article Here.

Apparently the temperatures today will be up to 48 degrees Celsius after humidity - that's in the hundreds for Fahrenheit.  This is the hottest it's been since the 1930's, and today (Thursday) has a chance of breaking the record.

Crazy global warming?  I think so :)

The Past Six Months...

February

  • Decided I needed a job (reffing in the summer isn't enough for a $4000 trip to France now is it?)  Then I applied at ≈ 12 businesses in my area.  Almost started working, but they never contacted me back after the first call.
  • Started 2nd semester - Math, Science, Careers & Civics and Spanish.
  • Received my report card for 1st semester;
    • French: 85%
    • Business: 91%
    • English: 92%
    • History: 98% --> this could get me the History Award, to join my gr9 Business Award.  Wouldn't that be swell?

Exam Time Update [4/6] & [5/6]

My business exam was a killer.  I didn't die, at least, but I don't feel that great about my answers.  Maybe I've just lost faith in myself... only 2 more exams to go.  It seems like I've been writing exams forever... although my first one was only last week.

Wish me luck :\  I'm stressed and (therefore) getting sick :(

S a r a h

P.S. good news is that my in-class test (in the form of a journal entry by Pi Patel) got 100%.  My teacher said she wants a copy, and that it was the most creative thing she's seen in 7 years of teaching.  And apparently, one part made her shed a tear.

Booyah.  :]  I love emotional writing.

Not Ready To Grow Up (3/6)

I did my French test today... it went good, sadly no better than I expected, but also no worse.  I'm burned out of schoolwork already, and it's not ever Tuesday.  Exams are a killer.

Something that's been on my mind a lot lately is that I'm not ready to grow up.  I admit in public that I'm immature and unready for the real world.  In reality, I feel okay to do things on my own; however I know how hard life is going to be like, and I don't want to live it right now.  I want to stay as a kid so I can prepare myself for the worse years to come.

Exam Time To-Do [Update 2/6]

Eiffel Tower, seen from the champ de Mars, Par...Image via Wikipedia
This is where I want to be.
For some happy reason, I seem to be completing all my studying tasks a lot sooner that I thought.  I actually understand French a LOT more than I expected!

I even remember concepts that I learnt in a rushed study-period before a test about a month ago... that doesn't sound impressive, but for me and my memory, it definitely is!

Eg: I made up an acronym - PJ Bec SVF (I didn't have much to work with)  and I remember that they all stand for!
-- parler/peur, besoin, envie, content, satisfait, vanter, fiere.
Those verbs are all part of an expression that uses "dont" instead of que or qui.  (There are more expressions, but for now that's what we use).

Essay Perfection

Three perfect essays in a row can say no wrong.  And what mine are telling me, is that I should share.  I should also not worry mindlessly every day until I get the essay back, marked.

Yeah, because lately, the mark has been 100%.

&& I sit there, looking at the marking scheme, reading the 10/10, 20/20 until I get up to the top, where it says 100% in messy, teacher writing.

And then I check the name.  I check the essay.  I check myself.  Then I shout YES! and get really happy.

This is my essay on The Truman Show and EdTV.  It's my rough draft, as the real thing has been sucked into Computer No Man's Land.  :\
