In English we've moved past our "To Kill A Mockingbird" unit and into poetry and short stories. We also have another ongoing project to read a science fiction novel and write (NOT present, which I hate so GO ME!) some report on it. I'm reading "Black Monday", a book which is not about racism like most people think, but all the oil in the world becoming unusable. It starts off with these amazing lines: "A plague that will cause the death of millions. A plague that will
destroy countries. A plague that will plunge the world into a dark age. A
plague that will make nobody sick..."
Sound cool or what? I have to say I'm excited.
But for the POETRY, however, I am not.

TAG; because I have no idea what else to do
Lapis Lazuli |
If I were a gemstone, I’d be lapis lazuli, because I think it is pretty :)
If I were a scent, I’d be maple+vanilla (MMM it smells like HEAVEN)
If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be old and comfy, any type. I'm not that picky about shoes.
Spring Showers |
If I were a facial expression, I'd be a scrunchie face =P
Sunset, AND Lake! |
If I were a time of day, I’d be sunset... or MAYBE sunrise

My Books-To-Read List
So, since I've had to time to write as of late, I've decided to read!
Well, LATELY I haven't been able to do much reading, but I WANT to read! I don't really like a specific genre of books (mainly just alternate universe teen or sometimes romance, depending on my girlyness at the moment). Here is a list of books I want to read (not all of them are out yet!).

Books I Want To Read In The Near Future:
- The Mockingjay - FINALLY the last book of the Hunger Games, out August 24th
- Will Grayson, Will Grayson - by John Green
- Smart Girls and Fast Boys - because I'm feeling like a gushy romantic gal. A friend said it was good.
- City Of Fallen Angels - another book in the Mortal Instruments series
- Infernal Devices - prequel series to the Mortal Instruments
- Fire - like the Graceling, same author/characters (sequel?)

Changes
I've changed my blog, as you can most likely see. I used the layout editor they have in Blogger now (or at least the Draft verison, which I use).
I'm not totally sold on the background image, but I like green and there wasn't much else I could think of. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestion!
I also have tabs/pages, which are cool. I had them before, sorta, but these I make myself (avec Blogger).
I also added in a Cbox (chat box) which I changed to fit using HTML (GO ME! I feel extra-accomplished). You can say something in it if you'd like (no pressure), and the email/URL is not needed. Hit enter to post what you've got to say. :)
So, do you like or dislike the changes?

P.S. check out the tabs!

These title things are bothersome.
A "book talk " I wrote on The Leviathan. :)
Read if you'd like. Enjoy, possibly?
Any thoughts on improvement may help as well. This is for English :)

The
Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld is a science-fiction book which takes place in
the year 1914, at the beginning of the First World War. In this book, the First World War is between two
different groups called the Clankers and the Darwinists. At first, the war is only affects
Austria-Hungary and Germany, but soon other countries come into the war to
defend their fellow Clankers or Darwinists.
What began as a simple murder quickly become a war between all of Europe
and it’s two distinct types of people. Although The Leviathan still has the king
of Austria’s murder, the alternate past and the Clanker and Darwinist
inventions, which defy the laws of nature and physics, are what make the
Leviathan a science-fiction novel.

March Break Plans
From now until the 22nd of March, I have the March Break. An entire week of school... I NEED this :D
I've planned to do a lot - shopping, EDITING, homework, and writing if I'm lucky. I REALLY need to edit Empyrean. Did you know, the average writer spends an hour on every page they write? I need to do that. So far, the first few paragraphs are good. I think, I'll go slow and steady, but only do a few edits. Or really, as many as it needs - but I'll go slow.
Other plans include sleeping and eating :)
Oh, and blogging. I'll try to figure out something interesting....
what do you guys want to hear about?

To Kill A Mockingbird
As far as school books go, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee is not that bad. Sure, it's about racism, laws and rape, but it's interesting too. The main character, Scout, is 9 when the story begins and about 12 when it ends, but that doesn't stop the story from being interesting to older people too. I don't really know why Scout HAD to be 9 in Harper Lee's mind, but she acts a lot older anyways, so I can't really complain.
It's about the Finch's family and how their life goes on. There's a guy in their next-door-neighbours house who has never been outside for 15 years (Arthur "Boo" Radley takes up the Part One section of the book) and a trail for a nice black man accused of rape in the second part. Although those are two different things and it makes the book sorta split down the middle, they do tie together at the end and give a few meaningful lessons.
All school books have lessons. This one tells you about Mockingbirds -

Ermm.. what sort of loser forgets a title?
Yes, these are pictures of my room! I won't even go into the depths of despair I had to traverse in order to get pictures on here. It was terrible.
